The following Scholarships are offered by the DAAD for applicants of developing countries as well as others  for Postgraduate Courses for Professionals with relevance expertise.

The Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology offers a four- semester graduate program in textile and clothing technology for students with an undergraduate degree. Successful participants are awarded a Master of Science degree.

This interdisciplinary program is  research-oriented approach that  offers specialist textile courses combined with fundamental knowledge of mathematics, engineering, and economics. The main textile courses are focused on chemistry, textile fibers, yarns, and
fabrics, enclosing sessions on finishing, testing, quality management, sewing, and recycling.

The importance of technical textiles for today's textile industry is emphasized and lessons are continuously updated with latest research results from all relevant fields. Many students work as assistants on current research projects.

Eligibility:

• B.Sc. degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, TextileEngineering, Textile Technology, Ready-Made ClothingEngineering, Ready-Made Clothing Technology, Textile Chemistryor Textile Finishing.

• At least 2 years of relevant career experience

• Sufficient knowledge in German language. The program is mainly conducted in German with several courses from external experts held in English

Provided by the income from a bequest made by Mrs Elsie Violet Wells, these scholarships are to be in the fields of: medicine, veterinary science, agriculture, psychology, psychiatry or theology.
Eligibility:

 

The fields of research in which the scholarships will be tenable for the years 2015 - 2020 are as follows:

 

• 2015 and 2018 Agriculture and Theology

• 2016 and 2019 Psychology and Psychiatry

• 2017 and 2020 Medicine and Veterinary Science

The award shall be tenable by those undertaking the thesis year of a Masters program at a university in New Zealand.They are to be awarded to any persons without restrictions of gender, race, nationality, creed or age who, by their occupations, courses of study or experience are qualified to carry out research (at Masters level). The application deadline is 1st October, 2015.

 

Course Level: Scholarship is available for students undertaking the thesis year of a Masters program at a university in New Zealand.
 
Scholarship Provider: 
The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest made by Mrs Elsie Violet Wells.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Citizens of any nationality can apply for this scholarship.

Number of award(s): Normally one scholarship awarded each year.

Duration of award(s): Each award shall be tenable for one year and that year shall be the thesis year of a Master’s degree.

What does it cover:  The value of each award shall be $2,000 per year.

Notification: Applicants will be notified in December.

How to Apply:
Candidates should complete an application using the Universities NZ on-line
scholarships application. The on-line application form will request and applicants must provide:

1.  a statement outlining the candidate’s thesis research.
2. a statement outlining the candidate’s extracurricular activities.
3. a statement describing any other particulars that may prove useful to the selection committee.
