The University offers a range of scholarships for Bangladeshi students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate Taught Masters program at the University of Sheffield in September 2015.

Bangladesh Sheffield Scholarships 2015


We are pleased to offer the Bangladesh Sheffield Scholarship to Bangladeshi students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2015.
The scholarships are:
  • £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500
or
  • £2,500 if your tuition fees are £16,501 and upwards
Unless
  • You are a student of MSc in Global Marketing Management, or any of our MSc Nanofolio courses jointly run with the University of Leeds. Under these circumstances your Scholarship will be £1,250 only, the £2,000 and £2,500 discounts above will not apply.
Eligibility and Award Criteria:
  • You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters program in September 2015.
  • You must be a national or permanently domiciled of Bangladesh.
  • You must be self-funded and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
  • The scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
  • The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying via Distance Learning are not eligible for the scholarships.
  • Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split pro rata over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.
  • The scholarships will not be awarded where partial funding is applicable from an external body* and there is an agreement already in place between the external body and the University of Sheffield to offer a tuition fee discount to the student.
  • The Scholarship is for each year of the Taught Masters Program, however it is not available for each year of a New Route PhD course. The scholarship is only available for the first year of study.
* Government or governmental organization – international, national or regional; Research council; Charity; private enterprise; or any similar organization.

There is one award available for individuals with a strong academic background beginning their postgraduate study at the University of Sheffield.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships specifically for Bangladeshi students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Bangladesh can apply.

ADB Japan Scholarships in USA for Developing Countries

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) - Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) is established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan.The ADB-JSP offers Scholarship around 300 students annually all over the world in various academic institutions located in 10 countries.For a uniform development of all regions ADB scholarship set limited to the scholars that after  completion of their study programs, scholars will go back to home countries to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.Main objective is to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries ( see below country list) to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region.

Application Procedures:

Applicants should request information and application forms from the chosen Academic Institution(s). Applicants are encouraged to access various resources, including the institutions' websites and handbooks for more information.
Applicants should indicate to the academic institution that they are applying for admission and that they would like to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship. The completed Institution application form and required documentation, including the ADB-JSP Information Sheet form, should be submitted to the academic institution. Applicants are required to submit their latest Income Tax Return or Certification of their Annual Salary/Monthly Salary, whichever is available. They should also submit a Certification of Family Income (Parent's Income).
The academic institution will screen and rank the applicants, based on its own selection criteria, keeping in view the eligibility requirements and selection criteria of the ADB. In the evaluation process, the academic institution may contact the candidates for further information. The academic institution will then submit its ranked list of applicants to ADB, including a description of the score/grading system which is the basis for the ranking.
ADB will review the submission from the academic institutions and recommend awardees based on the selection criteria of ADB to the Executive Director of Japan for formal approval.
Upon approval by the Executive Director of Japan, ADB will advise academic institutions on the successful candidates.
The academic institution will inform all applicants of the outcome of the selection process and begin to make arrangements for the awardees take up their scholarships.
The academic institutions will arrange for the signing of the Acceptance of Scholarship Award by awardee wherein the scholars agree that after completion of their study, they will return to their home country.
ADB will send an appropriate congratulatory letter to each scholar.
Applications for scholarships should be sent at least six months prior to the planned time that you wish to commence studies.

Important

No separate application to ADB is necessary.
The duly accomplished information sheet together with all copies of academic records should be sent to the institution at least six (6) months before the commencement of the intake that you wish to join.
Only candidates who have been offered admission and endorsed by the academic institutions will be considered for the scholarships by the
