The University offers a range of scholarships for Bangladeshi students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate Taught Masters program at the University of Sheffield in September 2015.

Bangladesh Sheffield Scholarships 2015


We are pleased to offer the Bangladesh Sheffield Scholarship to Bangladeshi students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2015.
The scholarships are:
  • £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500
or
  • £2,500 if your tuition fees are £16,501 and upwards
Unless
  • You are a student of MSc in Global Marketing Management, or any of our MSc Nanofolio courses jointly run with the University of Leeds. Under these circumstances your Scholarship will be £1,250 only, the £2,000 and £2,500 discounts above will not apply.
Eligibility and Award Criteria:
  • You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters program in September 2015.
  • You must be a national or permanently domiciled of Bangladesh.
  • You must be self-funded and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
  • The scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
  • The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying via Distance Learning are not eligible for the scholarships.
  • Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split pro rata over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.
  • The scholarships will not be awarded where partial funding is applicable from an external body* and there is an agreement already in place between the external body and the University of Sheffield to offer a tuition fee discount to the student.
  • The Scholarship is for each year of the Taught Masters Program, however it is not available for each year of a New Route PhD course. The scholarship is only available for the first year of study.
* Government or governmental organization – international, national or regional; Research council; Charity; private enterprise; or any similar organization.

There is one award available for individuals with a strong academic background beginning their postgraduate study at the University of Sheffield.

The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships specifically for Bangladeshi students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Bangladesh can apply.

Research Area: Research Associate in Nano-particles synthesis using Advanced Flow Technology,

Duties and Responsibilities:

The aim of the project is to develop a manufacturing methodology for the synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) for use in healthcare. The proposal assembles a multidisciplinary team at the Chemistry/Chemical Engineering interface with complementary skills to address the manufacturing challenges of making high quality NPs with tunable size, morphology and surface functionalization. This project is supported by the EPSRC and is in collaboration with the UCL departments of Chemical Engineering, IBME, and an industrial consortium.

Key Requirements:
The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant subject area in either Chemistry, Inorganic Materials, Material Sciences or in Chemical/Process engineering; have published work in high quality international journals, and have knowledge and proven research skills of inorganic synthesis techniques, especially the inorganic nanoparticle synthesis, especially the formation of Fe, Co, FeCo nanoparticles coated with Au and silica.
Additionally, the postholder will be expected to contribute to the design and implementation of the research strategy, and provide full records, analyses and internal reports of all research outcomes.

Runhe Masters Scholarship for Textile & Chemical Engineers at Wuhan Textile University, China




 Runhe scholarship for Textiles:
 
 Runhe scholarship is established by Runhe Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and is under the administration of China Scholarship Council. Runhe scholarship grants for the study of Master’s degree in Textile  Dyeing and Finishing Engineering  which is an English-taught program in Wuhan Textile University.



Program :
2-year English-taught Master’s program of Dyeing and Finishing Engineering.
No. Of Scholarships: 
10 students are awarded Runhe scholarship for 2014. This many vary year to year.
 
Coverage of Scholarship:
Tuition fee waive, physical examination and residence permit application, monthly living allowance  amount of CNY 1,700/Month, Free on-campus dormitory accommodation, Comprehensive medical insurance and international air tickets.

Eligibility: 
  • Applicants must be a citizen of Bangladesh, Pakistan or India and be in good health.
  • Applicants must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
  • Applicants must graduate from such majors as Dyeing and Finishing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering or other relevant.
  • Applicants must have a good command of English language.
